 The
increasing trend for property-related disputes, such as rent
reviews, lease renewals, boundary disputes, service-charge and
dilapidations disputes, is to use an independent third party
Arbitrator or Independent Expert for a quicker and more
cost-effective resolution than court action.

Mediation is likewise a growing area which offers a quick and
relatively inexpensive way of resolving disputes over
traditional litigation. Around 80% of cases are settled at a
one-day mediation. A mediation settlement is agreed by the
parties rather than imposed by the courts. Many property
disputes are ideally suited for mediation, particularly in a
landlord/tenant scenario where the parties will continue to deal
with each other after the dispute has been settled.
