Historic Instruction for WT Gunson

W T Gunson are delighted to have been instructed by Manchester Historic Buildings Trust to let surplus office space within the beautiful Grade II Listed building known as Elizabeth Gaskell’s House at 84 Plymouth Grove in Manchester.

Built in the 1830’s and most well known for being the home of William Gaskell and wife, famous novelist, Elizabeth Gaskell, the property is now fully restored to its former glory and open to the public, after years being in a poor state of repair and falling derelict.  With help from the Heritage Lottery Fund and other investors the building is set in grounds similar to those that would have surrounded the house when the Gaskell family were resident.

The house was visited by many notable historic figures whilst Elizabeth Gaskell lived there, including great Victorian novelist Charles Dickens, novelist and poet Charlotte Bronté and famous conductor and musician Charles Hallé, who founded the Hallé Orchestra in 1858 and also taught daughter Marianne Gaskell the piano.

The vacant offices would be perfect for any company with literary or historic connections.
