W T Gunson Celebrating 150 Years!

WT Gunson are extremely proud to announce their 150th year of trading in Manchester as an independent firm.

WT Gunson was founded in 1873 by William Telford Gunson as a firm of architects and surveyors. He was joined by his son Ernest Gunson shortly after founding the company, and the pair combined to successfully deliver some of the region’s finest churches, as well as public buildings such as Lytham Pier and Pavilion and Hyde Reform Club.

William Telford Gunson has recently been recognised by the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) as one of the most influential surveyors of the past 150 years for his work to deliver drinking water to Manchester via the Thirlmere dam and aqueduct. To this day the aqueduct still delivers water to the City of Manchester.

WT Gunson remains an independent firm owned by the current equity partners Neale Sayle (Agency Services), Dominic Stanger (Professional Services) and Lauren Dodd (Property Management) and specialises in commercial property consultancy offering a full range of property services – www.wtgunson.co.uk.

Neale Sayle partner and head of the agency department commented –

“We are extremely proud to play a part in the story of this long established and reputable company which forms part of the fabric and history of the Manchester Property Market. Whilst conscious and proud of our past history we are very much looking to the future and are excited to be a key player in the fast paced Manchester Property Market. We continue on our growth path focussing in particular on the quality of instructions and personal service to our valued clients with our 20 strong team.”

To complete their full array of property services WT Gunson bought Kershaw Surveyors www.kershawsurveyors.com during the Pandemic which forms part of WT Gunson and offers a full range of building consultancy services.
